Legendary Pittsburgh Steelers Linebacker Andy Russell Keynotes Continuum Veterans Foundation Gala Next Month

The Continuum Veterans Foundation is holding their first fundraising gala next month. On April 20th, former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Andy Russell will serve as keynote speaker.

The organization helps troops returning from battle to find jobs in the IT industry. Their event will take place at 6 p.m. at Pittsburgh's Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum.

Proceeds from the gala benefit Hire Heroes USA. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are currently available.

Following his rookie season, Russell was in the U.S. Army for two years as a Lieutenant in Germany. He went on to play 12 seasons in the NFL and was an eight-time Pro Bowler.

Russell was the Steelers' Most Valuable Player in 1971. He helped the franchise to wins in Super Bowl IX and X, setting the tone for the "Steel Curtain" defense that dominated the decade.

Russell is a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers All-Time Team. In retirement, he has remained in the Pittsburgh area as a partner at Laurel Mountain and is the author of two books.
