Jen Welter Speaks at The Association of Religious Communities 7th Annual Breakfast

After being a trailblazer on the NFL sidelines this fall, Jen Welter has been a hot name on the speaker circuit.  This past week, Welter was the keynote speaker at The Association of Religious Communities 7th Annual Breakfast.

She visited the group at the Crowne Plaza in Danbury, Connecticut.  The ARC works to stop domestic violence in the home.

Welter made headlines by becoming the NFL’s first female coach with the Arizona Cardinals.  She was an intern for the Cardinals preseason, working specifically with linebackers.

It was just the latest in many pioneering efforts for Welter.  She became the first woman to coach in a professional men’s football league with the Indoor Football League’s Texas Revolution.

She also suited up at running back for the Revolution, becoming the second woman to play a non-kicking position in a pro game.  After being a college rugby player at Boston College, Welter played in several women’s football leagues.

Perhaps the most impressive accolade of Welter’s is her impressive academic background.  She earned a master’s degree in Sport psychology from BC and a doctorate in psychology from Capella University.
