James Madison University Names Pittsburgh Steelers Linebacker Arthur Moats Commencement Speaker

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Arthur Moats has the unique opportunity to speak at his alma mater. He has been chosen as the spring commencement speaker at James Madison University.

The ceremony will be held on May 5th at Bridgeforth Stadium. Moats has remained an active force in the JMU community, donating $330,000 in 2015 for the school's studio art program, the Duke Club and the new Convocation Center.

During Moats presentation, he is sure to share some stories from his days on campus. While a player for the Dukes, he racked up 218 tackles, 48.5 tackles for loss and 29 sacks.

Moats also won the Buck Buchanan Award as a senior as the most outstanding defensive player at the Football Championship Subdivision level. The Buffalo Bills went on to select Moats in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft.

Moats spent his first four years in Buffalo and was the team's Walter Payton Man of the Year and Ed Block Courage Award winner in 2013. He signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the offseason and immediately made his presence known, recording four sacks and two forced fumbles in his first season.

Moats has continued to be a valuable part-time starter with the Steelers. He was also Pittsburgh's Walter Payton Man of the Year this past season.
