Howard Football Coach Mike London Speaks at School Reading Event

Howard football coach Mike London has spent almost his entire coaching career in the DMV and made a significant impact on people in the region. He recently got out in the community to speak at an event in Waynesboro, VA. 

London keynoted the 29th annual National African American Read-In on February 11th. It was held at Wenonah Elementary School. 

London particularly addressed the importance of reading to young people. He thanked the Wenonah principal and talked about the honor he felt speaking at an event about literacy. 

In his first season at Howard, London led the Bison to a 7-4 record. He spent 2016 as the assistant head coach and the defensive line coach at Maryland. 

London was the head coach at Virginia from 2010-2015 and was the 2011 ACC Coach of the Year. He previously compiled a 24-5 record over two seasons at his alma mater, Richmond, and led them to an FCS Championship in 2008. 

London began his coaching career at Richmond in 1989. He also had stints as an assistant at William & Mary, Boston College, Virginia and with the Houston Texans.
