Hall of Fame Tight End Kellen Winslow Speaks at Baron Club Awards Dinner Next Month

This April, Pro Football Hall of Famer Kellen Winslow is speaking at the Franciscan University of Steubenville. He is headlining the Baron Club Awards Dinner on April 22nd.

Several local difference-makers in the sports realm will be honored at the event. ESPN anchor John Buccigross grew up in the area and returns for the fourth time as Master of Ceremonies.

A single dinner ticket is $65 and an upgraded package that also includes Baron Club membership is $100. There are sponsorship opportunities as well.

Winslow was a trailblazer for the modern tight end. After being drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the first round of the 1979 NFL Draft, he went on to play nine seasons for the franchise.

Winslow was a five-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro. He is best remembered for a 1982 playoff game against the Miami Dolphins where he caught a record 13 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown.

In retirement, Winslow has served as an athletic director at Florida A&M and Central State University. He is currently the assistant to the president for Community Relations at Madonna University.
