Formula One Star Lewis Hamilton Signs Endorsement Deal with Monster

Formula One star Lewis Hamilton has long been among the top standouts in racing. Monster Energy is hoping to capitalize on his popularity, signing him to a personal endorsement deal.

As part of the agreement, Hamilton will take part in global promotional campaigns. Monster is also creating a commemorative LH44 line of drinks and other products.

The energy drink brand has been a sponsor of Hamilton's team for several years. They are frequently seen as an endorser in the sports space and have a significant investment in many forms of auto racing.

Hamilton is a three-time F1 champion who finished second in the standings last year. He originally made his debut in the series in 2007, becoming the first black driver to ever race.

That first season saw Hamilton finish second for the drivers' championship and he followed up the performance by winning his first title in 2008. At the time, he was the youngest F1 champion ever.

Hamilton has 53 career wins, which ranks second all-time, and he is the career points leader. In 2014, he was named the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
