Former Tulsa football coach Bill Blankenship remains a respected name in the profession. This past Wednesday, he spoke at the Owasso Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon. 

Blankenship shared some inspiring stories with those in attendance while detailing what lies ahead in his coaching career. He talked about the influence his father had in getting him involved in the profession. 

One of the other focus points of his presentation was the importance of building relationships. He also shared his "Football Truths for Life." 

Last month, Blankenship was named the head coach of one of Oklahoma's premier prep programs at Owasso High School. In 2016, he coached Fayetteville High School in Arkansas. 

From 2011-14, Blankenship was the head coach at Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane went 8-5 in his first year before going 11-3 and winning Conference USA in 2012. 

Prior to becoming head coach, Blankenship was on the Tulsa staff for four seasons. He was the head coach at Union High School in town for 14 years.
