Former Standout NFL Wide Receiver Andre Davis Keynotes Teach My People Graduation

Former NFL wide receiver Andre Davis has decided to make an impact in his post-playing days. He is actively involved with Teach My People, a South Carolina-based non-profit that provides after school programming for children in the area.

Davis was the keynote speaker for the program's April 25th graduation ceremony. It took place at Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church.

The graduating students received a braid to wear at their school's graduation proceedings, a laptop and a medal. Davis was honored to speak to a group of individuals he has seen go through the program with success.

Davis was a standout at Virginia Tech and went on to be selected by the Cleveland Browns in the second round of the 2002 NFL Draft. He spent the first three seasons of his career in Cleveland and tied an NFL record with a 99-yard touchdown reception during his final year with the team.

Davis played for the New England Patriots in 2004 and the Buffalo Bills in 2005. He joined the Houston Texans in 2007 and had three kickoff returns for touchdowns in his first season.

Davis holds Texans franchise records for kickoff return yards and kickoff return touchdowns. He retired in 2010 and currently resides with his family in Myrtle Beach.
