Southeast Missouri State University has announced their Speaker Series lineup for the upcoming school year.  One former Olympic standout has made the cut on the esteemed list of personalities.  

Former gymastics star Shawn Johnson will be the final speaker on February 6th.  Her presentation will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Show Me Center. 

Tickets for Johnson's event are $10 to the public and free to those with a student ID.  It should be a very special night of reflection wtih the former Olympian. 

Johnson had a banner 2008 Olympics in Beijing.  She took home gold on the balance beam and silver in the team, all-around and floor competitions. 

The year prior to the Games, Johnson collected three gold medals at the World Championships.  She also captured five gold medals in her career at the Pan American Games. 

Since Johnson's Olympic glory, she has kept a high-profile and is the author of three books.  She has also appeared on two seasons of "Dancing with the Stars" and won season eight.
