Much of DeMarcus Ware's standout football career was spent in Texas with the Dallas Cowboys. He was back in the state to speak at a special event for the Centers for Children and Families.
Ware was featured at the 17th annual "An Evening With..." A meet and greet with the former All-Pro kicked off the festivities and there was also a live and silent auction.
Ware talked about the importance of a strong foundation in life and gave the personal example of his mother. The proceedings wrapped up with an awards presentation.
The Cowboys selected Ware in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He went on to be selected to nine Pro Bowls and he was a seven-time All-Pro.
Ware led the NFL in sacks in 2008 and 2010. He played the final three seasons of his career with the Denver Broncos and won Super Bowl 50 with the franchise.
