Former NFL Player J.J. Birden Speaks at Primavera Online High School Graduation

Graduates from Primavera Online High School are getting some great advice today from someone who has been able to make a successful career transition. Former NFL player turned motivational speaker J.J. Birden is making a presentation to the students at their graduation. 

The ceremony takes place at 3 p.m. at Grand Canyon University. There are 850 graduates being recognized and 75% of them are planning on continuing their education. 

Primavera Online High School is Arizona's online education leader. The ceremony will be streamed online. 

Birden was a standout two-sport star at the University of Oregon. On the track, he was named an All-American and All-Pac 10 team member as a junior. 

Birden is in the University of Oregon Athletic Hall of Fame as a member of the 1985 NCAA Champion track and field team. He went on to have a seven-year NFL career with the Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons.

Birden laid the base for a career in motivational speaking while he was a rookie in the league with the Chiefs. During his presentations, he shares some of the lessons he learned while catching passes from NFL legend Joe Montana.
