Former NBA Standout Mo Williams Speaks at Mississippi Basketball Awards Luncheon in March

One of Mississippi's top basketball products is returning to the state to speak at a special event. Former NBA standout Mo Williams is keynoting the 2018 C Spire Howell and C Spire Gillom Trophy presentation.

The awards luncheon takes place at 11:30 a.m. on March 5th at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame. The trophies recognized the top women's and men's college basketball player in the state.

Tickets are currently available online and at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame. Williams should provide great perspective as a Jackson native.

Williams went on to be named Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year at the University of Alabama. The Utah Jazz originally selected him in the second round of the 2003 NBA Draft.

After one season in Utah, Williams spent four years with the Milwaukee Bucks. He has had the most success in his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

In 2009, Williams made the All-Star team and averaged a career-high 17.8 points per game. He returned to the Cavaliers in 2015 and won an NBA championship.
