Former NBA Standout Chuck Person Keynotes Auburn Club Dinner This Month

Former NBA standout Chuck Person has returned to his basketball roots at Auburn University. He will share some insights about the program during his upcoming appearance at the Coweta-Fayette Auburn Club. 

He is serving as the keynote speaker for their 14th annual social and dinner meeting on May 15th. The event will take place at the Loft at Due South in Peachtree City. 

A social hour kicks off the festivities at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The cost to attend is $40 and proceeds benefit the "Whupper Lee" Scholarship fund. 

Person played for Auburn during the program's golden years. He helped lead the Tigers to their first NCAA Tournament appearance, including runs to the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight. 

With 2,311 career points, Person is the school's all-time leading scorer. The Indiana Pacers selected him with the fourth overall pick of the 1986 NBA Draft. 

Person was the 1987 NBA Rookie of the Year and played 14 seasons in the league. He was an NBA assistant coach for several years and is currently the associate head coach at Auburn.
