Former NBA Pro Tony Delk Speaks at DH Hoops Camp

The DH Hoops Camp recently provided promising basketball players in Douglas and Paulding counties in Georgia the opportunity to improve their skills. Several guest speakers also addressed the group, including former NBA pro Tony Delk

The camp was held at Douglas High School June 19-23. There were 68 campers from the ages of 6-17 that attended the event.

Delk discussed his entire journey through basketball and led a shooting drill. He spoke about the importance of time, money and basketball to the realities of life.

Delk was one of the greatest players in the history of the University of Kentucky. He was a three-time All-SEC team performer but truly broke out as a senior in 1996.

Delk led the Wildcats to a NCAA Championship and was named the Final Four Most Outstanding Player. He was also a consensus first-team All-American and the SEC Player of the Year.

After a ten-year NBA career, Delk returned to Lexington to serve as an assistant coach at Kentucky. He also spent time as an assistant at New Mexico and he is currently an analyst for the SEC Network.
