Former NBA All-Star Grant Hill Speaks to Duke University Freshman

On Saturday, freshmen at Duke University got to hear from one of the schools most famous alums. Former NBA star Grant Hill gave a speech to close orientation week. 

The event with the Class of 2021 was held at the Duke Chapel. Hill talked a lot about his own experience on campus and the difficulty adjusting to college life. 

He praised the university's leadership. Hill also shared some of the lessons he learned under legendary Blue Devils head coach, Mike Krzyzewski

Hill won two NCAA titles and was a two-time All-American at Duke. The Detroit Pistons selected him with the third overall pick in the 1994 NBA Draft. 

Hill went on to be a seven-time All-Star and five-time All-NBA pick. After spending his first six seasons in Detroit, he spent parts of six seasons with the Orlando Magic. 

Hill finished his career by playing five years with the Phoenix Suns and one year with the Los Angeles Clippers. He is currently a co-host on NBA Inside Stuff
