Former Major Leaguer Doug Glanville Speaks at the University of St. Joseph Next Month

Former major league outfielder Doug Glanville has become a leading voice against social injustice. He will share some of his thoughts at an upcoming speaking engagement at the University of St. Joseph. 

The event is part of St. Joseph's Speaker Series and it takes place on November 14th. The title of Glanville's presentation is "Responding to Injustice in Ways that Work." 

He will also hold a book signing at the Hoffman Auditorium at 6 p.m. Glanville's book is "The Game from Where I Stand: A Ball Player's Inside View." 

Glanville had a successful nine-year major league career. He originally debuted with the Chicago Cubs in 1996, but he had his best season with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1999. 

Glanville hit .325 with 11 home runs, 73 RBI and 34 stolen bases, while his 204 hits were the second-most in the National League that year. After retiring from baseball, he became an analyst for ESPN. 

Glanville is now a contributor to The New York Times and writes a parenting blog on his personal website titled, "The Daddy Games." He is also a board member of the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association.
