This Thursday, the South Georgia Council, Boy Scouts of America "Building Leaders" dinner will take place in Albany. One of the state's sports legends, former Georgia coach Ray Goff, is the keynote speaker. 

The free dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Hasan Temple. Pledges are encouraged from guests and the funds raised directly benefit the Scouts. 

Goff will share some great stories from his days as a coach and player. He will talk about the principle of leadership and what Scouting does to develop leaders.

From 1989-1995, Goff was the head coach at his alma mater. He piloted the Bulldogs to two top 25 finishes and one Southeastern Conference East Division title. 

Prior to becoming head coach, Goff was on Vince Dooley's Bulldogs staff for eight seasons. He began his coaching career as an assistant at South Carolina for two years. 

Goff was a three-year letterman at quarterback for UGA. In 1976, he was the SEC Player of the Year and led the team to a conference championship.
