Former Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowler Jay Novacek Speaks at MSU Welcome Back Dinner

Midwestern State was playing to their region when they brought in a Dallas Cowboys great to speak at their Welcome Back Dinner. Jay Novacek spoke at the 11th annual event on Saturday night. 

The dinner served as the official kickoff to the athletic year and it was held at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. Novacek talked a great deal about the Cowboys and how his father was a fan of the team before he joined them. 

There were dozens of people on hand to hear his remarks. Novacek also spoke to the MSU football team. 

Novacek began his career with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1985, but he is best identified for his six years with Dallas. He became a top option in the passing game for quarterback Troy Aikman. 

Novacek was selected to five straight Pro Bowls from 1991-95. He was a first-team All-Pro in 1991 and a second-team All-Pro in 1992. 

Novacek won three Super Bowls with the Cowboys. He is also a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and the University of Wyoming Athletics Hall of Fame.
