Former Cardinals Great Willie McGee Keynotes St. Louis FCA Gala Next Month

One of St. Louis' baseball greats will be lending his time to help a local organization next month. Former Cardinals outfielder Willie McGee is the keynote speaker at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes St. Louis Dinner Gala.

The event will be held on November 9th at 5:30 p.m. at the Frontenac Hilton. Former Cardinals pitcher and current broadcaster Rick Horton will also speak.

Individual tickets are available for $150. Sponsorship packages range in price from $1,500-$5,000 and also include a pre-dinner meet and greet reception with McGee.

McGee played for four major league teams in his 18-year career, but had the most success with the Cardinals from 1982-90. He was a four-time All-Star in St. Louis and won the 1985 National League MVP Award.

McGee was a three-time Gold Glove Award winner and won the NL batting title in 1985 and 1990. He helped the Cardinals win the World Series in 1982 and made subsequent appearances in 1985 and 1987.

McGee is a member of the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame. He spent the last three years working with the organization as a special assistant to the general manager and will join the Cardinals coaching staff in 2018.
