Former Buffalo Bills Running Back Fred Jackson Speaks at Prep Talk Awards Next Month

Former running back Fred Jackson has a special place in the hearts of Buffalo Bills fans. He is appearing at an event in town next month that honors local high school athletes.

Jackson is speaking at the fourth annual Prep Talk Awards on June 14th. The festivities will be held at 6 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo Hotel and Conference Center.

Former Bills standouts like Steve Tasker and Andre Reed have spoken in recent years. Tickets are currently available to be reserved.

Buffalo fans identify best with Jackson's incredible story about defying the odds. After playing at Division III Coe College, he went undrafted and spent time playing indoor football and in NFL Europe.

The Bills signed Jackson in 2006 and a year later he became the first Division III running back to start an NFL game in seven years. In 2009, he became the first player in NFL history to have over 1,000 rushing and 1,000 kickoff return yards.

Jackson played for Buffalo through the 2014 season and ranks third all-time on the franchise rushing charts. He spent one final year with the Seattle Seahawks before retiring from the NFL.
