Former Boston Celtics Forward Brian Scalabrine Keynotes High School All-Star Banquet

Despite spending his career as a reserve, former NBA forward Brian Scalabrine always remained a fan favorite. He was able to share some laughs and good stories on Tuesday as the keynote speaker at the MetroWest and Milford Daily News All-Star Banquet.

The event was held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Westborough, Massachusetts. It served as an opportunity to honor standout area student-athletes from the region.

Scalabrine talked for 20 minutes about his journey from player to broadcaster. His discussion focused on navigating roadblocks in your life to achieve your dreams.

After a standout college career at USC, Scalabrine was selected in the second round of the 2001 NBA Draft by the New Jersey Nets. He played four seasons with the franchises and went to back-to-back NBA Finals.

Scalabrine became a fan favorite after spending five seasons with the Boston Celtics. He went on to play for the Chicago Bulls before retiring in 2012.

Scalabrine was an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors for one season before retiring. He currently commentates on Celtics games for Comcast SportsNet New England.
