ESPN Tennis Broadcaster Pam Shriver Speaks at Billie Jean King and Friends Gala

As an ESPN commentator, Pam Shriver is one of the most visible people in tennis. She received a warm welcome on November 1st as the special guest speaker at the Billie Jean King and Friends Gala. 

The event was held at the Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena, California. It was the 20th anniversary of the annual celebration that is held by Cal State LA. 

Throughout the years, the gala has always had great support due to the high-profile career and life of its namesake. Shriver spoke first-hand about competing against King and introduced many guests who have played a pivotal role in the tennis icon's life. 

Shriver succeeded on the doubles scene during her playing days. She is a former world number one doubles player that captured 21 Grand Slam titles. 

Shriver won 112 doubles titles overall and also took home the 1988 Olympic gold medal in women's doubles for the United States. As a singles player, she reached number three in the world and won 21 career titles. 

In 2002, Shriver was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. She has worked for ESPN since 1990 and currently provides commentary for the network's coverage of the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the U.S. Open.
