ESPN Analyst Tim Kurkjian Speaks at Baseball Night in Blacksburg

The Virginia Tech baseball program recently brought in one of the sport's most recognizable television personalities. ESPN analyst Tim Kurkjian spoke on Saturday at Baseball Night in Blacksburg. 

The event returned this year after a one-year hiatus and it was held in the Lane Stadium President's Suite. Kurkjian shared several fun baseball stories from his career and talked about some of the personalities he has met. 

After his presentation, attendees lined up to talk to him and take a photo. Hokies head coach John Szefc also spoke and guests could take part in a silent auction that benefited the baseball program. 

Kurkjian originally joined ESPN in 1998 as a Baseball Tonight reporter and ESPN the Magazine senior writer. He is the author of three books, including I'm Fascinated by Sacrifice Flies

Before joining ESPN, Kurkjian served as a senior writer for Sports Illustrated and reporter for CNN-SI. He covered the Texas Rangers for the Dallas Morning News and the Baltimore Orioles for the Baltimore Sun

In 1978, Kurkjian began her career with the Washington Star. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland.
