Dallas Cowboys Running Back Darren McFadden Speaks at Best of River Valley Preps Banquet Thursday

Dallas Cowboys running back Darren McFadden is one of the greatest athletes to ever come out of Little Rock, Arkansas. On Thursday, he will be speaking to the area's next generation of sports stars at the Best of River Valley Preps Banquet.

The event is being held at the Fort Smith Convention Center from 6-8 p.m. General admission tickets are available for $60. 

Several top athletes from 17 different sports will be honored with awards. McFadden will participate in a question and answer session that highlights some special moments from his career and lessons he has learned. 

McFadden became on the top running backs in the history of the Southeastern Conference at the University of Arkansas. He was a three-time first-team All-SEC performer and a two-time consensus All-American. 

McFadden was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Year and the Doak Walker Award winner in 2006 and 2007. With 4,590 rushing yards in college, he ranks second in conference history to Herschel Walker. 

The Oakland Raiders made McFadden the fourth overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. After seven seasons with the Raiders, he has been with the Cowboys for the past two years.
