Cincinnati Football Coach Luke Fickell Speaks at the Roger Bacon Sports Stag

Cincinnati football coach Luke Fickell has spent the past year getting more acquainted with the local community through a variety of speaking engagements. He was back at it again on Thursday speaking at the Roger Bacon High School Sports Stag. 

The event began with a social from 6:00-7:30 p.m. and a VIP reception that ran from 7:00-7:45 p.m. Dinner began at 7:30 p.m. and the program started at 8:00 p.m. 

In addition to handing out several awards, four new members were inducted into the Roger Bacon Sports Hall of Fame. The Italian dinner provided at the event was sponsored by LaRosa's. 

Fickell went 4-8 during his first season coaching the Bearcats. Since 2005, he had been the co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at his alma mater, Ohio State. 

Fickell was named AFCA Assistant Coach of the Year in 2010. In 2011, Fickell went 6-7 as the interim head coach at Ohio State. 

Fickell began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at OSU in 1999. He spent two seasons coaching the defensive line at Akron before returning to Ohio State in 2002.
