Hoops Icon to Inspire Youth and Community at South Dakota Event
Former NBA basketball player and March Madness legend Christian Laettner will be the keynote speaker at the 2026 Boys & Girls Club of Aberdeen Area Banquet on February 13 at the Dakota Event Center in Aberdeen, South Dakota. The organization’s mission, with chapters all across the United States, is to enable young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
Laettner is widely regarded as one of the greatest college players ever. The 6'11" power forward/center starred at Duke University from 1988 to 1992, leading the Blue Devils to back-to-back NCAA championships in 1991 and 1992. He earned National Player of the Year honors in 1992 and was a three-time All-American.
