Chicago Cubs Owner Tom Ricketts Speaks at Intersport Brand Engagement Summit in June

Sports Business Daily's Intersport Brand Engagement Summit is coming to Chicago at the end of the month.  It is only fitting that a man who has helped restore the city's premier sports brand would speak at the event.

Chicago Cubs owner Tom Ricketts is speaking at the summit.  The conference runs May 31-June 2nd at The Westin Michigan Avenue.

This is the fifth annual event that gives a close look at how fans can be engaged with brand experiences.  Registration is 1,495 for subscribers and 1,695 for non-subscribers.

The Ricketts family purchased the Cubs in 2009 and Ricketts took leadership of the franchise as chairman.  Two years later, he oversaw the hiring of Theo Epstein as President of Baseball Operations.

Last year, Epstein's vision took off as Chicago won 97 games and advanced to the National League Championship Series for the first time in 12 years.  The team is yet again a World Series favorite in 2016, boasting baseball's best record at 28-10.

Ricketts is also currently the CEO of Incaptial LLC, an investment firm he founded in 1999.  He continues to oversee TD Ameritrade Holding Corporation as a director as well.
