Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox Owner Jerry Reinsdorf Keynotes Youth Leadership Summit

As the owner of the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox, Jerry Reinsdorf has made incredible contributions to the sports culture in the city. On Friday, he connected with some of the young people that are fans of his teams.

Reinsdorf was the morning keynote speaker at the Youth Leadership Summit at Illinois Valley Community College. He tapped into his younger days to explain to the high school students assembled that he faced many of the same challenges.

Reinsdorf answered several questions from the crowd. The summit was hosted by United States Representative Adam Kinzinger.

Reinsdorf began his career as a tax attorney with the Internal Revenue Service, but made his money in real estate. He has been the owner of the White Sox since 1981 and the owner and chairman of the Chicago Bulls since 1985.

During his tenure as Bulls owner, Reinsdorf oversaw a franchise led by Michael Jordan that won six NBA titles. In 2005, he saw the White Sox win their first World Series since 1917.

Reinsdorf led the charge for both of his franchises to move into new facilities. He was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016.
