Chicago Blackhawks Head Coach Joel Quenneville Keynotes WESPY Awards Next Month

Chicago Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville is returning to a place where he starred on the junior hockey circuit. He is the keynote speaker at the Windsor/Essex Sports Persons of the Year awards. 

The 12th annual event will be held on March 7th at the Caboto Club. There will be 13 regular awards and nine major awards handed out at the banquet. 

Tickets officially go on sale online or at Bob Reaume Sports Monday. Individual admission is $125 and there are also group rates for parties of eight people or more. 

Quenneville is one of the greatest coaches in NHL history. Since becoming Chicago's head coach in 2008, he had guided them to the playoffs each season and has three Stanley Cup victories. 

Quenneville has also coached the St. Louis Blues and Colorado Avalanche. In 19 seasons as a head coach, he has only missed the playoffs twice. 

Quenneville currently ranks second all-time with 831 coaching victories. He also had a 13-year playing career in the league with four different franchises.
