Charlotte Touchdown Club Names West Virginia Football Coach Dana Holgorsen First Speaker for Luncheon Series

The Charlotte Touchdown Club has announced the first special guest for their 2018 Luncheon Speaker Series. West Virginia football coach Dana Holgorsen will talk about his team opening next season in the city.

The luncheon takes place May 25th at noon at the Sheraton Charlotte Hotel. A sellout crowd of over 750 people in the hotel's grand ballroom is expected.

Proceeds benefit the Touchdown Club's scholarship fund. Holgorsen will have plenty to say about WVU's matchup against Tennessee on September 1st in Bank of America Stadium.

Holgorsen has been the Mountaineers head coach for seven seasons. In his first campaign, West Virginis won the Big East, totaled a 10-3 record and defeated Clemson in the Orange Bowl.

WVU has since transitioned to the Big 12 Conference and Holgorsen led them to another 10-win season in 2016. He is 53-37 overall as the Mountaineers head coach.

Holgorsen began his coaching career as an assistant at Valdosta State in 1993. He eventually took offensive coordinator roles at major FBS programs like Texas Tech, Houston and Oklahoma State.
