Boston Red Sox Second Baseman Dustin Pedroia Speaks at Summer Baseball Camp

A generation of Boston Red Sox fans has grown up idolizing second baseman Dustin Pedroia. He was able to speak to some of his most ardent fans on Monday at the Dustin Pedroia Baseball Camp.

The event was held at Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts. It was sponsored by the RBI Baseball Academy and geared towards players between the ages of 6 and 16.

Pedroia shared his game day rituals with the 250 players in attendance. He stressed topics like hard work, having a positive attitude and being a team player.

Pedroia broke onto the scene with the Red Sox in 2007, winning the American League Rookie of the Year award and helping them capture the World Series. The following season, he hit .326 with 17 home runs and 20 stolen bases on the way to winning AL MVP.

Pedroia is a four-time All-Star and four-time Gold Glove winner. He was a member of the Boston team that won a World Series again in 2013.

Pedroia played college baseball at Arizona State University and had a .384 career average. The Red Sox originally selected him in the second round of the 2004 MLB Draft.
