Innovate Celebrate has a unique roster of speakers coming to the Bay Area next week. One of those presenters that you may not usually associate with speaking at an event highlighting corporate innovation and entrepreneurship is former Team USA hockey player Angela Ruggiero.

The event takes place October 9-11 at the InterContinental San Francisco. It is co-hosted by the Consumer Technology Association and TechCo Media. 

The 5th annual Startup of the Year Celebration will also be part of the festivities. Ruggiero should wow attendees with stories about her career and what she has done post-hockey. 

Ruggiero was a four-time Olympian, winning a gold medal in 1998, silver in 2002 and 2010 and a bronze in 2006. She is the all-time leader with 256 games played for Team USA. 

In 2015, Ruggiero became just the fourth woman inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. She is currently the managing director of the Sports Innovation Lab. 

Ruggiero serves her hometown as the chief strategy officer at the 2024 Los Angeles Olympic Bidding Committee. She is on the International Olympic Committee Athlete's Commission and is a member of the IOC executive board.
